Emem Isong With another Hit Movie Ayamma

Emem Isong-Misodi
Those who think that because notable Nollywood producer, writer and director, Emem Isong-Misodi, welcomed her twins in May this year, she would not hop on a movie location to prepare something exciting for her teeming fans, are dead wrong.

A source said the award-winning producer and director returned to the turf soon after ‘her exclusive session with her kids’ and the product of her return trip would be ready for a wider viewing in December.

Titled Ayamma, the movie is a Royal Arts Academy (RAA) production, in conjunction with Bank of Industry (BoI).

It is promoted as a magical story of love, treachery, lust and revenge, all entwined in the beauty of music and dance.

Set in a fictitious village somewhere in Ibibio land in beautiful Akwa Ibom State, Ayamma is the story of Ihuoma (played by Adesua Etomi), the poor, but beautiful village maiden with the voice of an angel.

Her voice coming out of the forest so haunts Prince Daraima (Wale Ojo), the handsome heir to the throne, that he does all he could to reach her, so as to claim her hand in marriage.

His efforts are, however, constantly thwarted by the envious Princess Ama (Theresa Edem), a princess from a neighbouring village, betrothed to Daraima, and who would stop at nothing to secure her rightful place as his bride.

Set in the lush, green fertile land of Akwa Ibom, Ayamma is a sweeping epic that transports us into a magical world of music, dance and drama.

Directed by Chris Eneaji, the movie stars some of the biggest names in Nollywood and is produced by Emem, who constantly continues to set trends and push the barriers in areas of creativity in film making.

Ayamma would be in cinemas across the country from December 23, this year.
