Pyrate Tells Buhari To Stop giving Amnesty To Militant

Image
THE National Association of Seadogs, NAS, otherwise known as Pyrates Confraternity has told the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to stop granting amnesty to the Niger Delta militants, saying that the amnesty was encouraging criminality in the region. National President of the group, Mr. Arthur Boje who gave the admonition in an interview yesterday, advised President Buhari to channel his energy on how to address the infrastructure deficit in the Niger Delta. He argued that the agitators will have no reason to be rebellious if the basic infrastructures were made available, adding that the ongoing anti-corruption crusade in the country would help cleanse the ‘dented’ image of the country in the developed world. According to Boje, the bulk of those agitating in the region were mainly doing that for their selfish reasons, not for the benefits of the communities. He said, “The Niger Delta Avengers believe that they have some form of control over oil pipelines that passes thro

Cocoa Farmer Gain More In Weak Economy

Nigeria’s cocoa exporters are smiling to the bank as the steep devaluation of the naira has resulted in a sharp increase in the naira income from cocoa exports. “Despite a drop in the country’s cocoa output, farmers and exporters are making a lot of income presently, due to the foreign exchange situation” Zacheaus Egbewusi, chief executive officer, Agri Commodity Inspection Limited, told BusinessDay.” BusinessDay findings show that the local price of cocoa per ton at Matori cocoa warehouse in Lagos was N1.25 million on Tuesday, 1 November, almost twice higher when compared to N650, 000 per ton in December of 2015. Hakeem Adebisi, a cocoa farmer in Ajebandele in Ondo State, said cocoa is now a more profitable business. “Farm-gate price of a kilo of cocoa beans have increased from N650 in December 2015 to N1, 250. We are currently harvesting and we are still expecting the price of cocoa to increase because of the value of the naira,” Adebisi said. Some cocoa farmers confirmed to Busi

Us President Elect Donald Trump Meet With Obama

US President-elect Donald Trump has said it was a "great honour" to meet President Barack Obama for transition talks at the White House. Mr Obama said he was "encouraged" by their "excellent" and "wide-ranging" conversation, lasting over an hour. During the election campaign, Mr Trump vowed to dismantle Mr Obama's legacy and he has previously questioned his US citizenship. Mr Obama, meanwhile, had called Mr Trump "uniquely unqualified". But following Mr Trump's shock defeat of Hillary Clinton in Tuesday's election, Mr Obama appealed for national unity and said he was "rooting" for him. After Thursday's behind-closed-doors meeting in the White House, Mr Obama said: "My number one priority in the coming two months is to try to facilitate a transition that ensures our president-elect is successful." He said they had discussed domestic and foreign policy and he had been "very encouraged&q

House Of Rep Member Escape dead

House of Representatives member, Hon James Abiodun Faleke is a very lucky man. He narrowly evaded the cold hands of death after his Vehicle was attacked by unknown assailants. An SUV was conveying him from Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, to Abuja, before it was shot at by the unidentified gunmen. The visibly shaken Faleke disclosed this himself in a report he lodged at the Gwagwalada Police Division in Abuja. Police reports indicate the lawmaker was attacked between 7pm and 7.30pm on Sunday November 6. The bullets hit the front windshield of his bullet-proof vehicle thrice before the first bridge at Gwagwalada. In his words; I was returning from Kogi state on November 6 and my vehicle was shot at the first bridge in Gwagwalada, which is under construction between 7pm and 7.30pm. About three bullets hit my jeep, but thank God, it was a bulletproof car. The bullets cracked the windscreen but did not penetrate. I’m grateful to God for the life of my driver, orderly and myself. How to Know Fake Job Interview

I have seen so many People complaining and lamenting their ordeal in the hands of fake scam companies who invite people for interview only to introduce them to fake drug marketing business. I'm doing this not only because these companies waste people's time, energy and T-fair going to such interviews, but also because most of these scammers extort money from hapless job seekers thereby making their suffering times two. Imagine a scammer extorting #10,500 from a graduate who have been unemployed for years, not to talk of the transport fare wasted going to such fruitless interviews or job chat as they usually call it. Some people even borrow money to pay these sheep in wolves clothing, who promise them heaven on earth. Some will tell you that you will make half a million within 1 month and all that. If you're not careful, you will take a loan that you will not be able to repay thus causing embarrassment and lack of rest of mind. An unemployed person should have only himsel

Nigerian national Chijioke Stephen Obioha is set to be executed

Nigerian national Chijioke Stephen Obioha is set to be executed in Singapore on November 18, Amnesty International reported on Thursday. Mr. Obioha was sentenced to death on December 30, 2008 after being arrested on April 9, 2007 for the possession of cannabis. He was found with over 2.6 kilograms of cannabis, an offense which, under Singapore law, mandates the death penalty. Mr. Obioha appealed his sentence in August 2010, maintaining his innocence, but the court refused to commute his death penalty down to a prison sentence. According to Amnesty International, in Singapore, the burden of proof lies on the defendant rather than the prosecutor. The human rights organization explained that this is a violation of the right to a fair trial. He has since filed an appeal to clemency. Amnesty International is urging human rights activists to petition the Singapore government to grant Mr. Obioha clemency. Read the full press release below: URGENT ACTION NIGERIAN TO BE EXECUTED for

Trump on Thursday invited British Prime Minister

Image
UK Prime Minister Theresa May / AFP PHOTO / Scanpix Denmark / Liselotte Sabroe / Denmark OUT US president-elect Donald Trump on Thursday invited British Prime Minister Theresa May to visit him “as soon as possible” as they held their first conversation since his election, Downing Street said. The pair reaffirmed the “very special” relationship between their two countries, while May emphasised their “long history of shared values” and of standing together “when it counts the most”, her office said. Congratulating Trump on his shock win in Tuesday’s presidential election, the British Conservative leader emphasised her wish to strengthen trade and investment as Britain leaves the European Union. The so-called “special relationship” is of huge importance to London, particularly now as it prepares to sever its ties with the EU following the June vote to leave the bloc. Trump, whose mother was Scottish and who has two golf courses in Scotland, emphasised his close and personal connecti
